How to auto repeat a YouTube video on computer and phone

While most YouTube videos are designed to be viewed only once, there are many videos that are worth watching more than once, such as videos with a favorite piece of music or song. Fortunately, there are several ways to repeat a YouTube video, we will look at four of them here.

Apparently, YouTube is not only for watching videos, but also for listening to songs and music. Sometimes there is a song or music that comes to your mind so much that you have to listen to it again and again until you don't want to listen to it again! You often want to listen to music while doing other work on the computer; maybe for motivation or just to get rid of the noise around you so you can focus on the tasks better.

Since YouTube is primarily designed for watching videos, not just listening to them, the video will not be automatically replayed when finished by default. So when you're listening to music on YouTube while doing other work, you'll find that going to the video and hitting the play button every time you want to repeat the video is very annoying. There must be a better way to repeat a YouTube video and make it work indefinitely. In the following lines, there are four different ways that allow you to do it easily. Let's start right away...

How to auto repeat a YouTube video on computer and phone?

Method 1: Use the default option "Loop

Indeed, YouTube provides a basic option that can be easily enabled to have the video automatically repeat infinitely after its time expires without having to manually click the Play button. You may have overlooked this option because it doesn't appear prominently when the video plays - it's even included as one of the options that appear when users right-click on the video.

So all you have to do is go to YouTube and play the music or video you want to listen to frequently, then right-click anywhere on the video and it works. In the menu that will appear in front of you, click on the "Loop" option and you will notice that a sign (✔) will appear in front of it, which means that the video will continue playing in a continuous loop without limits .

It should be noted that this method also works on smartphones, but it does not work on all browsers. The Chrome browser was used on Android and iPhone devices to test the method, but it turned out that it worked only on Android. For owners of iOS devices, they can use the Safari browser. Just open the browser and go to YouTube (m.youtube.com), then press the button (⋮) in the corner of the screen and choose from the list "Request a website for computer". Now play the video, then long press it to show you the list that contains the "Loop" option, so you activate it so that the video plays in the background and repeats.

Method 2: Duplicate an entire playlist

This method may seem a bit strange, but it still allows you to repeat a YouTube video smoothly, and we are not talking about repeating a single video here, but an entire playlist that includes a number of videos. You'll notice that when you play a video that's in a playlist, once the clip is over, the site will automatically switch to showing the next video in the list... and so on until it reaches the last video, and then you'll stop listening to anything because the site doesn't repeat the list automatically unless the user selects it. All you have to do is play any video in the playlist, then press the "Loop playlist" button. Once it is activated and a "Loop is on" notification appears, the first video will be repeated immediately after the last video in the list ends. This method works on both desktop computers and mobile devices.

Method 3: Using third-party sites and applications

Playing in a loop

Perhaps the options offered by YouTube are not for everyone and looping offers nothing more than replaying the entire video over and over again. So there are other ways, with the help of third-party websites and apps, to do the job better with extra privileges. These sites only aim to repeat the YouTube video side by side, which allows you to specify the time you want to repeat in the video instead of repeating it completely. The best example of such sites is ListenOnRepeat. Of course, there are many options, but it's all about preference and simplicity.

All you have to do is play the YouTube video you want to repeat, then add the word "repeat" between YouTube and com. In the link (for example: www.youtuberepeat.com/watch?v=xxxxxxxx) and clicking on the Enter button you will immediately access the site. Below is a slider with which you can adjust the selection of the duration of continuous repetition of the video.

For smartphone owners who want to easily repeat a YouTube video, you can install the Musepic app on Android phones or the LoopTube app on iOS devices that help you do the job perfectly.

Method 4: Using a browser extension

If you find that the previous methods still don't work for you or are unfamiliar to you, in that case, you'll need to use browser extensions that modify the YouTube video display page to provide a more advanced option that effectively duplicates the videos being played. Here, I recommend the free Looper for YouTube extension for Google Chrome, so after installing it, restart your browser. From now on, you will notice that a "LOOP" button appears at the bottom of any video you play on YouTube, press this button to bring up a slider where you can select the part you want to repeat in the video. Note that there is a Loop for X times option where you can turn it on and specify the number of repetitions instead of infinity.
