By default, all applications are installed on the main hard disk of your computer, usually the "C" drive. Changing the application installation directory is useful in some cases. Including lack of storage space. This is especially common on portable devices with disks with poor technical specifications. The Program Files folder is one of the most important folders on the C drive that takes up a lot of space if several programs are installed on the system. One way to free up space on this drive is to change the default installation location of new applications. To help you, we suggest FreeMove, an open source program designed to help Windows PC users move installed programs from the default location to another folder or drive. Simply select the program you want to move, then easily choose its new location. The tool is very useful to overcome the problem of lack of space on the virtual disk of the installation system. It allows you to move folders to any other location, even to other drives, while allowing other processes or shortcuts to access these files.

The process is done by creating join points, which is why the method does not work on FAT32 formatted drives. To check if your hard drive is formatted in NTFS and not in FAT32, right-click on the drive in question, select Properties and look at the drive type.

First, you will download FreeMove and run FreeMove.exe as an administrator. Then you will choose the directory of the program you want to transfer by clicking the "Browse" button.

Now, just choose the new location to which you want to move the program by clicking "Browse", and finally clicking the "Move" button to start transferring the program files to the new location.
